Mr. Charles Thompson passed.

Celebration of life Mr. Charles Thompson Saturday, January 17, 2015 12 Noon at Temple of God, Inc., 92 Whiteford Ave., SE, Pastor Officiating. Remains instate 10:00 AM. The family will assemble at funeral home 10:00am.

Mr. Charles Vernon (Charlie Boy) Thompson was born on October 23, 1951 in Rockmart, Georgia to the late Aaron & Annie Ruth Thompson. He was the ninth of nine children born to this union.

Charles confessed Christ at an early age joining Morning Star Baptist Church in Rockmart, Georgia. Later on in life after moving to Atlanta, Charles united with the Temple of God Church, Inc.

Charles worked for multiple companies during his lifetime. Georgia Duck Mill, Borck’s Country Home Bakery and Ernst Concrete Enterprises. Charles was educated in the Polk County School System of Rockmart, Georgia.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron & Annie Ruth Thompson; wife, Ruth Grant Thompson; brothers Edward, Aaron, Leroy, Joe Will and sister, Willene Walton.

Charles is survived by a loving family, a son, Shawn (Lashandra) Muse of Social Circle, Georgia; brothers, Bobby (Irene) Thompson of Lithonia, Georgia and Billy (Betty) Thompson of Aragon, Georgia; stepsons, Leontray (Tracie) Williams of McDonough, Georgia, Deontray (Sabrina) Williams of Monticello, Georgia and Marcus Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; five grandchildren; an uncle, Wilbert McCrary of Winder, Georgia; nieces, Temeka Walton Grier of Atlanta, Georgia and Sharon Thompson of Dayton, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

So sorry for your loss. Death is such an unnatural thing. Many have found comfort in the words of Revelation 21:4 which says: "..death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in your loving memories of Charles and in God's promise that the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing.
