Obituary For Della E. Saxon

Della E. Saxon was born in Savannah, Georgia on February 6, 1914. She was one of five daughters and one son born to Frank Edwards and Corneilia Green Edwards.

In the late 1940's, Della moved to New York where she was a homemaker and raised her six children. Prior to moving to Atlanta in 1998, Della Saxon lived in Fayetteville, North Carolina for 23 years.

Very sophisticated and meticulous about her appearance, Della Saxon always dressed stylishly. She was fond on the music of Mahalia Jackson and Sam Cook.

Della E. Saxon entered into rest on Thursday, October 23, 2008. She preceded in death by her son, Carlton Saxon.

Admired and adored by her family, those who cherish her memory include her daughters, Charlesetta Jackson, Lillian Davis, Rita Williams, and Doreen Robinson; son, Mitchell Steven; nineteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
