Obituary For Mrs. Dorothy Wright Steed

Dorothy Yervonne Cox Wright-Steed has pressed the pause bottom on the DVD of life, and has proclaimed to all of those who had the pleasure and honor of crossing her path while on life's journey, to say, "I came, I saw, I did, and I conquered, now take this torch that I pass on to you, and keep if moving!"

The late Raymond and Sallie Mae Cox, were the proud parents of two biological children, Dorothy and the late Lorenzo Cox. Dorothy married the love of her life, Leslie Oliver Wright. This union produced four biological children, Shanteena Turner (Teena), LaVerne W. Stephens (Tiny), Murble A. Wright (Tammie) and Efrem L. Wright (E).

Dorothy celebrated her life's journey in the cities of Atlanta and Chicago. She matriculated at institutions of higher education in both the States of Georgia and Illinois. With the same vigor that she pursued her interests in life, she also pursued the presence of the true and living GOD.

Dorothy loved praising the LORD. She loved her Church, Christ the Lord Church of Atlanta, and she freely and obediently, gave of her tithes, talents and time. She was active on the usher board, the mother's board and Church Anniversary Committee, to name a few.

In essence, Dorothy pursued that which brought joy to her life. Dorothy is survived by all of her children, and step-daughter, Erma, a son-in-law, Arthur Stephens, Sr., four beautiful grandchildren, cousins and friends too numerable to mention.

With a voice of triumphant, Dorothy says to all of her children, "I have pressed the forward bottom on the DVD of life, you have taken the torch, now run this race and win!' "Naked I came out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return, The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord."

Job 1:21.
