Obituary For Mrs. Brimell Dunn

Brimell Lyn Dunn, the daughter of the late Samuel A. heron and Lillian Dahl, was born August 5, 1935 in Manchester, Jamaica. A true woman of God who never ceased to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, passed unto glory on Saturdat, December 13, 2008.

Brimell had a strong sense of adventure and determination. She was raised in Kingston Jamaica and moved to England where she studied nurding. She eventually migrated to the United States with her late husband, Danswell Dunn. When she moved to New York, she attended Saint Joseph's College where she received her Bachelors of Science degree. Studying true to her character of helping others, she chose a career in nursing. She was a nurse for 25 years at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

Reared in a Christian home, she sought God at an early age. When she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1992, she was a cherished member of Chapel Hill Harvester Church where she was actively invovled in several ministries including Meals on Wheels, Joseph's Food Storehouse and the Super Saints. She also freely volunteered her time to be a nursing assistant at DekaLb Medical Center. She was also actively invovled in the YMCA. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and participated in a senior boeling league where she won several bowling trophies. In the final years of her life as a member of Greenforest Community Baptist Church her unwavering faith and committment to helping others continued until the very end.

Throughout her life she was an exceptionally devoted wife, mother, and granmot6her. She always had an open heart to anyone that was in need. She was joined in marriage to Danswell Dunn. This union lasted for 23 years until his passing in 1989. To this union two children were born.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her two sons, Noel Dunn of Decatur, Georgia and Andrew Dunn (Rashida) of Powder Springs, Georgia; two loving grandsons, Darren Dunn and Joshua Dunn of Powder Springs, Georgia; brothers: Barry Heron of Windsor, Ontario and David Heron (Vadni) of White Plains, New York; sisters, Silvia Heron of Florida and Joan Singh (Linford) of Kingston, Jamaica; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbors.
