Mrs. Willie Bell "Doot" Upshaw was born in Eufaula, Alabama on September 18, 1946 to Mrs. Daisy T. Groom and the late Mr. Joelet Upshaw, Sr. She was called to eternal rest on May 10, 2008.

Willie attended Price High School located in Atlanta Georgia. She was a loving and giving woman. She gave birth to four children, but was a mother to many.

Willie leaves to cherish her memory a devoted son, Anthony Upshaw; three loving daughters, Jessie Upshaw, Helen (James) Young, and Celena Upshaw, who will miss her dearly; her loving mother Daisy T Groom; six grandchildren, Adrian Upshaw, Erica Upshaw, Ashley Upshaw, Aiesha Upshaw, Jaime Kellam, Jr. and Evangela Young; great granddaughter Adrianna Upshaw; four sisters, Recie Ann (Joe) Sanders, Vinnie Upshaw, Lillie (Stanley) Powell, Villie Payne, and one brother, Willie St. Joseph Groom; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends; special friends Darlene Mapp and Cathy Kwarteng. She leaves all of them behind to join her brother and father Joelet Upshaw, Jr. and Joelet Upshaw, Sr.
