Charles Edward Comer was born on September 27, 1955 in Panama City, Florida to the late Frank Comer, Sr. and Mrs. Louise (Jones) Comer. He was the sixth of eight siblings.
Charles’ enthusiasm and God-given talents drew the attention of anyone blessed to be in his presence“ He lit up a room with his intellect and witty sense of humor. He grew up in Panama City, attending Patterson Elementary School and Rosenwald High School.
As an adult, he began writing poetry and earned multiple awards for his incredible talent. He also had a love of music that could be felt in the melodies he strummed on his guitar and heard in the velvet, sultry timbre of his voice, which was second to none. He incorporated his lyrical genius into his passion for music, writing songs that moved our souls.
Charles also had a heart for the downtrodden. His desire was to implement a program to help those who have gone astray-lost souls who are broken internally but appear whole to those on the outside looking in. His vision was to provide these individuals with love and understanding to improve their self-confidence and self-esteem.
It was his goal to mend broken lives. Though, unfortunately, Charles ardent desire to assist those in this convoluted struggle never came to fruition, the articulation of his desire to assist others – only illustrates his mindset and humanitarian spirit. Where God in His infinite wisdom makes no mistakes, He called home our beloved Charles Edward Comer on Monday, May 24, 2021 in Panama City, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe L. Vann; and sisters, Elouise Mincey (Joe), Dorothy Baker and Leneva Vann.
