My Story

1997-2008

Some of you may know me as Britney, some as Britty Britt', 'Brit-teney', 'Princess', 'My Boo', or 'Baby Girl'. No matter what cute name you may have known me by, it was as special to me as it was to you. Speaking of Special of 'special' let me tell you "my story". It all started June 20, 1997. God knew the journey with me and my twin sister Whitney. On this day we all became one happy family, Daddy, Mommy, Jade, Whitney and me.

Although Whitney and I were twins, God chose very different destinies for us. You see my mommy and I would spend many days and nights at wonderful places such as Children Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory. Even though I faced many challenges with my health, I was blessed to be able to attend many schools including Pate's Creek Elementary, where I received the best educational support from staff and very special teachers especially, Ms. Tracey, Ms. Tammy, and Ms. Heather. Because i truly enjoyed school. I only missed days when I had appointments or was not feeling well.

I accepted Christ early in my life and I found it easier not to complain about my challenges. I always looked forward to going to church to sing and clap my hands to show God how much I loved him, You see, I love celebrating life with my family. Just between you and me, I would sometimes call them and plan my own little party - just because... and they would come running because they love to party too! As I recall these special times, these are the people that comes to mind.

My mommy and daddy, Arlene and Derrick Alexander; my sisters, Destiny, Jade, and Whitney; my brother, Christian; granddaddy, Jack Carter; Big mama, Christine Stallings; Ma-ma, Annette Campbell; granny and granddaddy, Brenda and Sammy Alexander; my God parents, Angela and Earl Sheffield; all my aunties, uncles, cousins, friends, and relatives.

The Lord has now called me to my new home. I am now watching over those who watched over me. Thanks for a beautiful life.
