Cleveland Junior Powell, Sr. was born on January 12, 1940 in Wadley, Georgia to James Powell, Sr. and Hattie Bell Powell. Cleveland and Vivian Turner Powell were united in holy matrimony on September 29, 1962 in St. Augustine, Florida. He was employed with Florida East Cost Railroad, St. Augustine Boat Yard, Florida Rock, and Northrop Grumman.

In addition to his parents, Cleveland was preceded in eternal rest by his daughter, Tammy Powell; sisters, Dorothy Floyd, Minnie Bell Singleton and Mary Crooms; brothers, Willie Powell, Sr., Timothy Powell and David Powell.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of 58 years, Vivian Powell; sons, Cleveland Powell, Jr. and Stacy Powell; daughters, Deborah Powell and Deandra Powell; brothers, James Edward Powell (Margaret) and Bobra Powell (Sharon); sister, Eula Green; brother-in-laws, Harold Strawter(Brenda), Richard Strawter (Rhonda), Stanley Watson, Jerry Strawter, Darren Watson; sister-in-laws, Carolyn Miller (John), Marilyn Benitez (Miguel), Sharon Dicks (Alonzo), Jacquelyn Douglas, Sentoria Jackson; ;grandchildren, Misty Powell, Cleveland Powell III, Stachelle Powell, Stacey Powell, Jr. Deandre Powell, Faijon Tobler, Khadijah Reid, She’Teala Beal, Tahje Reid, 13 great-grand children and a host of sorrowing family and friends.

The Powell Family will receive friends and the community 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Friday, June 25, 2021 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 280 Duval St, St. Augustine, FL. A Celebration of Life will be 1:00PM, Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Richard Madison, Pastor. Rev. Emanuel Oliver, Eulogist.
