Willie Floyd Green’s Journey with God… The Reverend Willie Floyd Green, Sr. was born March 19, 1936, the youngest of 6 children to the late Elmo Green and Gladys Richardson Green. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age at his home church in Barnesville, GA. He attended early childhood school here in Lamar County, Barnesville, GA. As he grew into the Ministry, he would have gone on to get a diploma at Phillips School of Theology. At a very young age he went to work at Barnesville Marble Granite Co. here in Barnesville. After 50 plus years he would put down his shelve and retire. He was blessed with so many other skills. Brick Mason, Cement Finisher and many others. The Reverend Willie Floyd Green Sr. as his long and productive career in the pastoral ministry, over 50 years in both Central Georgia Conference of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. He served under Bishop Peter Randolph Shy, Bishop Joseph C. Coles, Bishop Othal Lackey, Kenneth Carter, Presiding Elder Raymond D. Ford. Presiding Elder Curtis Jones. He retired in the year 2010. The Reverend Willie Floyd Green Sr. was a great fisherman, baseball player and most of all he loved serving the Lord! Cherishing his legacy are his loving wife. Flynt of Reno, NV, and Christopher Green (Christine) of San Antonio, TX; Niece that he helped raise, Darlene Grant of Cleveland, OH; One loving sister, Annie Ruth Hughes of Barnesville, GA; Sister-in-law, Calista Banks (Randy) of Damascus, GA; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, a host of nieces nephews, cousins and close friends. Funeral Service were held Saturday, June 19, 2021 11:00 A.M. West Mount Sinai Baptist Church Interment Greenwood Cemetery
