Obituary For Willie Henry Williams

The Book of Life opened for Willie Henry “Poochie Man” Williams, Jr. on March 18, 1946 in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Willie Henry “Bill” Williams, Sr and Late Emurl Williams. He lived in Fort Pierce, Florida all his life. He graduated from Lincoln Park Academy in 1965 and matriculated to Southern University on a football scholarship. He married Betty Blocker Williams for 53 years.

Willie retired after 18 years from the Saint Lucie County Sheriff Office as a Corporal. Later he became a Longshoreman for 18 years and retired. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing pool and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Greater Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church until God called him home.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents: Willie and Emurl Williams; sister and brother-in-law Jim and Virginia Cain; brother: Odell Morant, Son-in-law: Genia Wallace “Skip” Bennett; sister-in-law: Peggye Blocker Williams

Willie is survived by his wife Betty Blocker Williams of Fort Pierce, Florida; his daughters, Monica Williams Bennett of Fort Pierce, Florida and Brittani (John) Saracco of Daytona Beach, Florida; his son, Tavares (Tonie) Williams of Fort Pierce, Florida; Grandchildren: Azara (Kendall) Williams Gilchrist, Breanna Williams, Monique Williams, Tyler Williams, Armon Bennett, Kylie Saracco and Blair Saracco; Great Grandchildren: Ky’Ziah Gilchrist and Kazi Gilchrist; Trell (Amanda) Bennett, Norris Bennett; Extended children Ronnie Gilbert, Ireland Ava Lovett, Makayla Youngblood, Jennifer Martin and Ashanti Robinson; Brother-in-laws: Lonnie (Marian) Blocker and Joseph Williams; Sister-in-laws: Ora Perkins and Gloria (Thomas) Demps and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and sorrowing friends who will miss him dearly.

Public viewing for Willie Henry Williams will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral Services will convene on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Greater Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID-19 have been relaxed, we at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff.
