Mrs. Catherine Walker Garrett, one of eleven children, was born on November 27, 1949 to Margaret Buford and Johnny Walker.

Catherine was educated in the Atlanta Public School System where she attended C.W. Hill Elementary and David T. Howard High School in Fulton County.

Catherine spent her life working as a caregiver. She also did Residential Services. In 1984 she married Charlie Lee Garrett. Shortly after, they began working for the Lord through Evangelistic Ministry with Bethel Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Prophetess Amber Barber. She later joined Christ The Lord Church of Atlanta in 2008 under the leadership of Pastor Earl Caruthers.

Catherine leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband of twenty five years, Charlie L. Garrett; eight children, Anthony Grimes, Marvin Walker, Tony Grimes, Ronnie Grimes, Michael Grimes, Timothy Grimes, Keyana (Timothy) Cain and David Grimes; three step children, Jimmy Garrett, Jeremiah Garrett, and Jeanette Garrett-Pitts; mother, Margaret Buford; father, Johnny Walker; sisters, Jeanette Ellison, Leontyne Ellison, and Ann Buford; brothers, Golden (Bay Bro) Billups, Willie (Boo Boo) Ellison, and Jimmy Ellison, a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
