Reginald confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Garris Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He attended the public schools of Anson County and was a graduate of Bowman Senior High School. Reginald was employed as a Maintenance Worker by The Great Renowned Gospel Singer, Rev. Shirley Caesar.
“Sleepy” was fun-loving, comical and genuine. He never met a stranger and loved to make everyone laugh. His “Yay-Yah” and his famous saying, “Let me see your head get smaller from the back” will forever be remembered by his family and friends.
Reginald was preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley Wall Dickerson; great grandmother, Shellie P. Wall; and one brother, James Edward Lisenby Sr.
He leaves in memory his mother, Geneva Wall Lisenby of Wadesboro, NC; four sisters, Wanda K. Lisenby of Milton, Delaware, Brenda Lisenby of Winston Salem, NC, Gwendolyn G. Lisenby and Shirley M. Lisenby both of Wadesboro, NC; six brothers, Melvin “Pig” Lisenby (Brenda) of Lilesville, NC, Larry G. Lisenby of Winston Salem, NC, Rev. Dr. Roy A. Lisenby (Carol) and Walter V. “Tag” Lisenby both of Wadesboro, NC, Rodney L. Lisenby of Winston Salem, NC and Gary Blakney of Thomasville, NC. A special sister-in-law, Pam Lisenby of St. Charles, Maryland. Two uncles, Merice Ben Wall (Stella) of Ansonville, NC and James A. Wall (Lana) of Oxford, NC. Two great aunts, Annie Bell Wall and Arline Barringer. His extended family, the Rorie’s, who grew up as siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Services were held on Friday, July 2, 2021, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment followed in Westview Memorial Park, Highway 74-West, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
