Obituary For Mrs. Marvel Elizabeth Thrasher

Marvel Elizabeth Bankston Thrasher was the youngest of seven children born to the late Charlie and Eva Bankston, on February 23, 1932 in Atlanta, Georgia.

She married the late Ben Thrasher, Jr. and to their union, seven children were born.

Mrs. Thrasher was a life long member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized at the age of twelve. She was an active member and had a great love for her church and church family.

Marvel was a very generous person. She leaves a legacy of love, care, strength and endurance for others in hard times and strong faith in God.

Marvel was preceded in death by two of her sons, Benjamin III and Gary.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Mrs. Charlotte (Horace) Jordan of Decatur, GA, Ms. Eva Thrasher of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Marvin (Darlene) Thrasher of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Rodin (Jeffrey) Moreland of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Mrs. Toni (Anthony) Wright of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Frances Young and Hazel Sherrer; her best friend. Ms. Geneva Goodson; daughters-in-law, Ms. Johnnie Thrasher and Mildred Thrasher; she also leaves fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
