Celebration of life for Ms. LaVerne West will be held Friday, July 9, 2010 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church 501-7 Mitchell Street, S.W., Rev. Byron E. Thomas, Senior Pastor, officiating . Interment, Southview Cemetery. Remains instate at 9:30 a.m. She was a graduate of Harper High School and Albany State Univ., City of Atlanta retiree and a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. Survived by mother, Mrs. Mada Anne Smith West; 2 brothers, Dean (Carolyn) West, Benson (Joyce) West; aunt, Mrs. Annette (James) West Hampton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will assemble at residence 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Central UMC in memory of LaVerne West.
