Mrs. Vivadon Wilcher Horton

Passed 06/26/2021

Vivadon Wilcher Horton was born on April 30, 1947, in Barnesville, Lamar County, Georgia to the late Lamar Wilcher and the late Erletheyer Revere Wilcher. She was a proud graduate of Lamar County School Systems Booker High School, Class of 1963. However, it was no secret that her true passion was sewing. She worked at William Carter Company as a seamstress and expressed her entrepreneurial spirit through crafting freelance attire for clients and family members in the surrounding areas for many years. Vivadon was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Bennie Horton on February 2, 1963, and to this union two sons were born. She was the matriarch of her family and played a key role in ensuring everyone built relationships, not just among her line but across all family lines. By exemplifying honor, strength and unbridled directness, Vivadon impacted many generations, old and young alike. She would not hesitate to share her nuggets of wisdom nor her beloved home cooking, although sometimes it seemed you must go through the tough love to get to the home cooking, regardless, everyone always came back.

On June 26, 2021, Vivadon’s journey amongst the living ended, but the remembrance of her services to her family, friends and community will always be engraved upon the hearts of those that knew her. She was preceded in death by her sisters Venordor Wilcher Taylor and Erlethyer Wilcher.

Vivandon leaves a legacy of love and lessons that shall live on in the hearts of her spouse Bennie Horton of Barnesville, GA; her two children Ronald L. Horton (Vivian) and Rafael Horton both of Barnesville, GA; her grandchildren, Kendra Jackson (Devin) of Barnesville, GA; Keygee Horton , Rondereus Simmons of Barnesville, GA and Renee Horton of Barnesville, GA; her surviving sister Patsy Jackson (James) of Forsyth, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
