Obituary For Mrs. Annie Lee Giles Anderson

Annie Lee Giles Anderson was born on November 11, 1921, in Live Oak, Florida to the late Eugene and Stella Giles.

After the passing of her mother she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, attended public schools; graduating from Dillard High School in 1941. She attended First Baptist Piney Grove with the aunts who reared her and received Christ at an early age.

After her high school graduation she relocated to Atlanta, attended Apex School of Cosmetology and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was licensed as a Registered Master Beautician in 1942, managed salons and worked for forty-four years. Most of those years were spent serving clients in the Old Fourth Ward area of Atlanta.

She united in holy matrimony to the late Andrew Anderson. To this union was born four children: Andrew Jerome Anderson, Yvonne Anderson Gaither, Ronald Anderson, and Reginald Anderson.

“Giles,” as her clients called her, embraced life with her quick wit, humor, and loving compassionate nature. She was an avid reader with a pet peeve for using the King’s English.

On Monday, February 22, 2010, Mrs. Annie Lee Anderson made her transition to be with the Lord.
