Beatrice Artquella Moon was born in Birmingham, Alabama on November 16, 1977 to the proud parents of Arthur and Ann Moon. Her grandmother, Annabelle, gave her the name Beatrice and her godmother, Aunt Rebekah, named her Artquella. She was later brought to Atlanta, Georgia where she attended Bethesda Christian Academy and continued her education at Miller Grove Middle School. In the fall of 1990, she developed an interest in playing the flute and later joined the Symphonic Band. Her hard work in music and academics continued when she transitioned to Redan High School. She continued to shine as a musician and became a member of the Redan Blue Thunder Marching Band. Artquella, as she was affectionately called, was well known around Redan as the girl with the infectious smile and the slow, soft spoken voice. She always had a positive word and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. Artquella attended cosmetology, real estate and modeling schools. While employed with State Farm Insurance and Target Store, her personality flourished. She also was employed with Comcast Cable as a telesales agent. Artquella won several awards for the most sales, including a laptop, which she loved to use. She then applied and was promoted to a new position where she again elevated to a promising level with the company. She always aspired to be a Wedding Planner, so in honor of her grandmother; she developed “Anna’s Sweet Beginnings” and was in the process of building the business for that purpose. She also worked side by side with her parents in their family restaurant. She loved to go out and enjoy a movie or just mingle with friends and family. She loved meeting people and displayed an interest in everyone she came in contact with. Artquella pursued a relationship with God at an early age. Her childlike faith in God has been an encouragement to all those around her. She was a faithful member of the Junior Usher Board and Youth Choir. It was during this stage of young Artquella’s life that she dedicated herself to the Lord. Artquella met Derrick on November 18, 2007 just two days after her 30th birthday at Target in Fayetteville, Georgia, where she was employed. They dated for two years before marrying in a private ceremony on August 31, 2009. Artquella peacefully entered into the Lord's arms Wednesday morning, April 25, 2012, two days after her mother’s birthday. She will always be remembered for her gracious smile and her unconditional love for family and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Bishop Isaiah and Annabelle Jackson, and Willis and Bessie Moon, three aunts and five uncles. Gone way too soon is this angel set to us for just a short time. The only thing that keeps me comforted is the smile that was always upon her face. Derrick hold her smile in your heart and know that she will always be with you. Mom and Daddy Moon Quella loved her parents and she was always letting everyone know that she had the best parents in the world. I am just happy that God placed our lives together to share and grow together as sisters. I will miss seeing you in the flesh but I look forward to our random talks. Rest in Peace my little sister until we met again.

Artquella always had a smile on her face and never had anything bad to say about anyone or anything. She will be deeply missed. My prayers are with her friends and family.
