Obituary For Mr. Claud McGhee

Mr. Claud McGhee passed.Claud McGhee was born June 29,1944 in Albany, Georgia. He was the fourth of six children born to the late Charlie and Mary McGhee. Claud was raised in Manchester, Georgia and graduated from Manchester High School. Not long after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and later retired from that position after completing his years. He then went to work and retired in 2006 from the Ford Motor Company in Hapeville, Georgia. Since 2010, he was an active member at Richland Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Valley, Georgia. Claud was very active and served on many committees including Men's Ministry as Vice President; teacher of the New Member Orientation Class; member of the Adult Bible School Class; member of the Church Finance Committee; and of course lending a helping hand where needed.

With his loved ones close by his side, Claud peacefully took his seat to be with the Lord on Friday, February 19, 2016. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Lewis and Rufus and a sister, Mildred.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy McGhee; four children, Debbie (Scott) Hightower, Freddy, Sr. (Trina) McGhee, Michael (Shaun) and Michele (Marvin) McGhee; sister, Charlie Mae; brother, Guy Will; six grandchildren, Freddy, Jr., Brittany, Douglas, Micah, Marquis and Marquez; a special friend of a decade, Sylinda; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.

With so much love surrounding him, let us never forget Clarence to some and Grove to others, the little man with the big heart. His witty jokes kept us smiling; his two-step, you couldn’t help but join in; his ability to fix any and everything; his warm smile and hugs; his teaching of life and most importantly, the love and joy he gave every single one of us. Claud will be truly missed, but his memory, may it always be in our heart.
