Obituary For Khadijah Muhannad

Mrs. Khadijah Muhannad, of College Park, GA, passed Apirl 6, 2013.

Celebration of life service for Mrs. Khadijah Muhannad will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 11:00a.m. at Grissom-Clark Eastlake Chapel, Pastor Eliza Armstrong, officiating. Karen L. Hodges was born on May 19, 1962 in Cuthbert, GA to Mr. Hodges and the late Mrs. Annie Pearl Jones. She departed this life on April 6, 2013 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the third child of four siblings. She grew up in various parts of Georgia, lived overseas in Germany, and in the mid 60's, her mother, Mrs. Annie Pearl Jones relocated her family to New Jersey. Karen attended West Side High School and Essex County College in Newark, New Jersey.

In the early 80's she met Mr. Anthony Fortune. Together they married and changed their names to Muhammad H. Muhannad and Khadijah A. Muhannad. From this union they were blessed to have two beautiful children, Zaki and Jahaan.

Khadijah was a wife, mother and hard worker. She was employed by several high end security agencies where she stood guard for the laws of the land. Khadijah loved music, dancing, fine dining, but most importantly she loved her family.

Khadijah was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Annie Pearl Jones; only brother, Llewellyn Scott, her two uncles, Hubert Scott and Franklin D. Scott; aunt, Annie Doris Davis.

Khadijah leaves to cherish her memories her two children, Zaki (Tyreema) M. Muhannad and Jahaan M. Muhannad; two sisters, Donna Scott and Rev. Regina (David) Rainey-Paige; three grandsons Zaire, Jaden and Sa'heed; uncles, Wilson (Amy) Scott, Jr., Johnny Scott, Robert (Ruth) Davis; nine nephews, Akia, Derrick, Tommy, Ark, Omar, Davon, Daijon, Daiquan, and Donte and a host of great nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends.
