Huey Lee Porter, “Shorty” was born on April 16, 1942, to Lula Mae Porter in Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by Lula M. Porter (mother); John L. Porter (brother); and Daniel Porter (brother). He was employed with the City of Memphis, Public Works Department. He also loved working as a Funeral Director and escort for several local funeral homes, in Memphis, Tn. In his spare time, he enjoyed repairing automobiles, socializing and bringing laughter to those around him. Huey leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Chantay P. (Larry) Knox of Memphis, Tennessee and Alexandria Porter of Atlanta, Georgia; Rita Fondren of Memphis, Tennessee; Jean Henderson (very special friend); two brothers Johnny Porter; Tyrone Porter and one sister Josephine P. (Stanley) Wright all from Memphis, Tennessee; three god daughters Toni Henderson, Gwenette Henderson and Tiffany Walker of Memphis; three grandchildren, one great grandson; one step son Kevin M. Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
