Obituary For Mrs. Mildred Street

Mildred Lousie Stubbs Street was born August 1, 1921 in Lynch, Harlan County, Kentucky to Ray and Mary Etta Stubbs. She made her transition to be with her heavenly father on September 7, 2009 in Decatur, Georgia.

After moving from Kentucky at an early age, Mildre Lousie Stubbs attended elementary school in Potterville, Georgia and high school in Reynolds, Georgia. She joined the Macedonia Baptist Church as a child. After marrying Corenthus Jesse Street, Sr., they made their home in Cordele, Georgia. Mildred joined the Saint Paul Presbyterian Church. In the mid 1990', after moving to Atlanta area to be with family, she joined the Saint Phillip A.M.E. Church of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. George Moore, Senior Pastor and the Reverand Larry D. Jones, Assistant Pastor.

Mildrid and Corenthus were married for sixty-eight years. She attended Morris Brown College after raising a family to earn her credentials to become a dietitian and worked at the A.S. Clark School and Georgia Southwestern School (Crisp Sounty School System) for twenty two years before retiring in 1988. She loved a good joke, cooking, decorating her home, gardening and growing flowers.

Mildred Street leaves to embrace her loving memory, five children, Barbara Street White (Andrew), Decatur, GA, Corenthus J. Street, Jr. (Delores), Decatur, GA Frederick Street (Kathy), Columbus, GA, Gerald B. Street (Gloria), Lithonia, GA, and Marietta Shannon (Freddie), Jonesboro, GA; one sister, Clara Hill (Wilbur), Augusta, GA; two brothers, John Stubbs Hawthorne, Florida and James Stubbs (Mary), Jacksonville, Fl; eleven grandchildren, nine great granchildren, other relatives and friends.
