Obituary For Associate Pastor, Rosie Lee Shack

Celebration of Life for Associate Pastor, Rosie Lee Shack, age 94, of Gadsden, AL. will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Abundant Life Church with Bishop Jewell Thomas, Officiating. Interment will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6-7p.m. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service.

Rev. Rosie L. Shack was born to the late Nathaniel and Alberta Green on January 6, 1924. She received Christ at an early age and as a young woman went on to meet and marry the late Mr. Alonzo Shack, Jr. to this union six children were born.

Rev. Rosie Shack served a lifetime of faithfulness to ministry. In her early years she was a member of Attalla A.O.H Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Mary E. Washington. She was called to ministry at the Albertville Community Center Mission. Mother Shack faithfully served also under the ministry team with the late Pastor Henry Mostella at the Etowah County Corrections Center and later served under the late Pastor Ruby James at James Temple A.O.H. Church of God. She later served as Pastor for several years of James Temple A.O.H. Church of God. In her latter years she joined and served as Associate Pastor and a faithful member of the Greater Lula Street A.C.O.P until her departure on January 12, 2018 under the leadership of Bishop Jewell Thomas, Jr.

God Blessed Mother Shack with a good and long life. She took advantage of witnessing to other's every opportunity she had. She was a bold soldier as she witnessed, while equally ensuring that her family knew the goodness of the Lord.

As a mother, Rev. Rosie Shack was nurturing, encouraging and a prayerful with her family. She taught them the way to live a righteous life. She had a wonderful spirit that always drew people and inspired them to live a better life. Mother Shack was acknowledged by the City of Gadsden,for her dedication and accomplishments with a proclamation for her lifetime of service to ministry.

For her 94th birthday, she wanted to see her family come together in one place to praise and worship God and The Lord gave her the " desires of her heart."

She leaves to cherish her many memories her loving children; Sons, Alonzo L.(Doris) Shack III, Sheldon (Joyce) Shack and Bruce (Patricia) Shack; Daughters, Alberta G (Otis) Jennings, Renita Stevens and Phyllis Shack. special daughter Vicki Giles Shack. Sister-in-laws; Mrs. Lonnie Mae McElderry, Mrs. Ida Lois Taylor; Grandsons, Otis (Sabrina) Jennings Jr., Jermaine Jennings, Jackie Jennings and Rodney Jennings, Westvadin Shack and Jalen Griffin; Grand-daughters, Shameka ( Yolanda) Stevens, Roxanne (Alana) Stevens, Alexandria Shack, Chasity Goggins and Janiah Griffin; Great-grandchildren, Jordan Jennings, Christina Jennings, Christopher Jennings, Jocelyn Douglas ,Y'Kiesha Cleveland, Brionna Jennings, Gabrielle Tarvar,Zaryiah Shack, Zakorien Shack (Lil Savannah Hargress- Jennings and lil Hezekiah Shack) both deceased;Great-great grandson, Rylan Ledford. Special son, Cedric Smith. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
