Obituary For Mattie Pearl Elston

A memorial service for Ms. Mattie Pearl Elston, 75,will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Visitation for Ms. Elston will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021, at the funeral home.

On November 9, 1945, Mattie Pearl Jackson Elston was born to Sam Jackson and Pearl McKinney Jackson Scales in Talladega, Alabama.

Ms. Elston dedicated her life to Christ and became a member of Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. She attended school in Talladega. Upon completion of her education, Mattie found that her gift was caring for others.

On Saturday, July 10, 2021, Mattie gained her eternal reward. She was preceded in passing by her husbands, L. B. Elston and Ralph Chandler; her son, Sedrick Jackson; her parents, Sam Jackson and Pearl Scales; a brother, John B. Jackson; and a sister, Ethel Mae Jackson.

Ms. Elston will be forever remembered by her daughter, Angelette (Robert) Jackson of Sylacauga, Alabama; one grandchild, Kandiss Jackson of Sylacauga, Alabama; one sister, Dorothy Cass of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
