Obituary For Sylvia Maria Luster

Sylvia Marie Parker Luster, received her heavenly wings on July 5, 2021. Sylvia was affectionately known by her family as “Candi”. She was born on January 20, 1971 to George and Ola Parker. Sylvia was the only child born to this union and was preceded in death by her father, who loved and cherished her dearly.

Sylvia was educated in the Fulton County School System. She graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduation, she completed her education with a degree in Computer Accounting. She worked at Molly’s Daycare Academy for several years as a teacher. Sylvia was smart, articulate and knowledgeable in whatever task she was given. Many admired her charm, soft spoken charisma and her beautiful smile.

Family was another love in Sylvia’s life: her mother, Ola; her children, and her beautiful grands. Whatever the kids did they always included her as one of them. Sylvia was just simply an all-around person. Whether with family or friends, she loved everybody.

Sylvia joined First Corinth Baptist Church and was baptized in the late 1980’s under the leadership of Rev. M. L. Raglan. Her parents decided to move their membership to the westside of Atlanta and joined Rising Star Baptist Church and from there were led to Mount Vernon Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor R. K. Turner. Sylvia was very active in the church, she worked at the daycare academy at Mount Vernon’s 441 MLK Jr. Dr. location. She worked in the MVBC office with membership data entry; she was a member of the MVBC Mass Choir; and, she was a member of the MVBC Praise Dancers.

In 2020, her health began to decline, but she never complained, always had a smile on her face and continued her daily activities.

Sylvia, “Candi”, will truly be missed by family and friends. We love you dearly, but we also know that God loves you more.

Sylvia leaves to cherish her loving memories, her devoted Mother, Ola Parker; one son, Tajh Jamal (Jasmine) Luster; two daughters, Akela Denea and Myesha Chardy; seven grandchildren, Quinton Antonio Zachery, RaNayiah, Shenae, Royal Lamar Dorsey, Kaidyn Ray, Kaylin, Tajh Jamal, Jr. and Jamal Luster; two brothers, Eric and Kerry Parker; one uncle, Neal (Joyce) McGee, Lexington, KY; two aunts, Julia McGee, Atlanta, GA and Luella Parker, Phoenix City, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
