Obituary For Mary Ann Hampton

Mary Ann Hampton, 69, of Axton, VA died July 12, 2021. There will be no public viewing. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 16,2021 at Star of Bethlehem Way of the Cross Church, Cascade, VA.

Mary Ann Hampton, daughter of the late Mark Hampton, Sr. and the late Nellie F. Hairston Hampton, departed this life July 12, 2021, at her home in Cascade, VA. She was born June 3, 1952, Pittsylvania County. Mary attended primary school in Cascade, VA. She lived her entire life in the Cascade area. Mary worked doing many different jobs throughout the neighborhood and in the Pelham area. She did domestic work and worked on tobacco farms. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Mary gave her life to the Lord many years ago joining The Star of Bethlehem Way of the Cross Church. There Mary served as an usher. She took great pride and dedication to that job which she did whole heartedly and faithfully until her death. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: two sons; Kenneth O. Tinsley (Latoya) of Eden, NC, Kem L. Hampton (Annette) of Danville, VA, two grandsons; Tony and Brandon Martin, two sisters; Martha Hampton of Danville, VA, Molly Hampton of Cascade, VA, three brothers; Michael Hampton and Donald Hampton both of Danville, VA, Ricky Hampton of Cascade, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
