Obituary For Lillie Neal McCoy James

Lillie Ruth McCall McCoy was born in Jefferson County, Georgia, March 25, 1951, to the parentage of the late Willie Ozzie Neal and Thelma Farmer Neal. Lillie Ruth was lovingly and affectionately called “Momma” by her five children and “Lillie” by her family and friends. She departed her life from her loving family on July 6, 2021, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, Mooresville, N.C. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 P.M. at Stone Springfield A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Stapleton, GA. Public Viewing will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. Lillie lived most of her young life in Stapleton, Georgia and as a young adult she moved to Riviera Beach, Florida, to live with her stepmother Mary C. Neal who helped guide her through life’s journeys. During Lillie’s lifetime she enjoyed a cooking career as a Chef where she cooked at many restaurants. Her food was loved by everyone who got a chance to eat it. Her hobbies included dancing to her favorite songs with her children, a hidden talent was writing poetry (she had notebooks of many pages she wrote and saved throughout the years), reading and fashion (always dressing to impress). Lillie lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures and helping people when she could. Lillie always spoke her mind, you never had to guess what she was thinking. Lille lived in Riviera Beach, Florida for some time before she decided that she wanted to raise her 5 children in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. She lived in Port Saint Lucie, Florida until February 2021. Lillie moved to North Carolina with her children because of failing health. She is preceded in death by her husband Earnest James, Jr., one daughter, Shekerria McCall; a great grandchild, Jaiden Lillie is survived by four children, Sharon McCall, Tamara (Michael) Kasey, Latika (Kenyatta) Gentry, all of North Carolina, Letroy (Jerri) McCall of Jacksonville, FL; seven siblings, Elnora Abney, Augusta, GA, Billy Neal, Percy Neal, both of Riviera Beach, FL, James (Adrian) Neal, Jacksonville, FL, Pauline Thompson, Greenacres, FL, Mary (R.C.)
