Lucy B. Pugh

02/04/1940 - 07/03/2021

Mrs. Lucy B. Pugh, age 81, went home to be the Lord on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at her home in Cocoa, Florida. On Sunday, February 4, 1940, she was born in Pittsview, Alabama to the union of Jimmy and Emma Ruth Henry Williams.

Mrs. Pugh worked as a domestic engineer at Comfort Inn and Suites for 27 years. She attended Greater Saint Paul Baptist Church of Cocoa, Florida. She was the neighbor that everyone loved and dreamed of having. No matter what time of the day or night, you could come to her house. If you were hungry, she would stop whatever she was doing to feed you. She loved cooking for her neighbors that were ill and would deliver the meals if they could not come to get them.

She wasn’t the type to hold a grudge, even if you made her angry. Now, she might turn into “Madea” and let you have it, but once she said it, she was done. She would be ready to make you something to eat like nothing ever happened. If you came to her house and needed a place to stay, she would gladly give up her bed to you.

She kept in touch with her family and friends daily. She would set aside time each day to call family members, especially her son Mickey. She loved working with her plants and flowers. She talked to them daily. She also loved playing the card game Rummy, but we all knew she cheated, lol.

She leaves these loved ones to cherish her precious memory: one son Mickey Williams of Box Springs, GA; two step-daughters Janet and Ernestine Woods of Cocoa, FL; one grandson Steven Crane; 3 great- grandchildren Serenity Jackson, Joshua Jackson, and Steven Crane all of Columbus, GA; 3 brothers Soloman Williams of Eufaula, AL, Arthur Williams(Bertha) of Columbus, GA, Jimmy Williams(Harriet) of Deltona, FL; one sister Rosie Dillard of Milwaukee, WI; her very best friend Mason W. Grubbs, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry Woods, four brothers James, Erskine, Eddie, Joseph Williams, and four sisters Viola Williams, Erma Morris, Mary Ivey, and Gertha Beverly.
