Mitchell Redd, 42, of Spring Dr., Collinsville, VA, departed this life on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA. He was born in Martinsville, VA on March 12, 1979, the son of Frances Redd Scales, and the late Michael Hayes.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Louise Redd, George Redd, Zelda Hayes and Michael Hayes.

Mitchell was a graduate of Fieldale Collinsville High School class of 1997. He was a United States Army Veteran and served two terms in Iraq.

Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Frances Redd Scales of Collinsville, VA; daughter, Kiana Redd of Martinsville, VA; sister, Terri "Nikki" Knotts of Greensboro, NC; brother, Marcus M. Redd, Sr. of Collinsville, VA; loving pet, Thanos Redd of the home; niece, Makiaiah Redd of Martinsville, VA; two nephews, Robert Knotts, III, of Greensboro, NC, and Marcus M. Redd, Jr. of Martinsville, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home. A public viewing will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. All other times, the family will be receiving friends at 818 Olympia St., Martinsville, VA.
