Deaconess Sandra Evon Perry, wife of Deacon Michael D. Perry Sr., was born on September 25, 1951, in Sumter, SC to Evangelist Mary E. Felix and the late Lincoln Williams. She departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest on Thursday July 15, 2021.

Deaconess Perry was educated in Sumter, SC Public Schools. She Graduated from Lincoln High School Class of 1969 and furthered her education by obtaining a certification to become a Keypunch Operator in New York City. Sandra later attended Webster College in Los Angeles, California where she studied to become a legal secretary. She also attended Cornell University in New York City studying Women’s Studies, and later becoming a social worker. She eventually obtained a degree from Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York.

At the beginning of her spiritual journey while in Sumter, SC she attended Salem Baptist Church and served in the choir and the youth ministry. Throughout the various places she lived, she served in various capacities within ministry. After relocating to Georgia, she joined Divine Faith Ministries International (DFMI) in Jonesboro, GA. At DFMI she was a member of the choir, the usher board, Women of Faith and when her husband Michael became a Deacon, she proudly accepted the role of Deaconess. Serving as a deaconess, she took the area of preparing and serving communion very seriously.

Deaconess Sandra Perry was a woman with a very nurturing spirit which earned her the title as the neighborhood’s mom with her children’s friends. She is affectionately known as “Momma Perry”. She was always seen with a smile on her face, a sweet spirit, and a word of encouragement. She was loved by everyone she encountered. Her Motherly spirit helped those who needed her most. Whether it be a whooping of discipline, or a hug filled with love. When she was not serving in ministry, she could be found spending time with her family. She truly adored her family; her grandchildren were very special to her. She loved spending time with her husband, crocheting blankets, singing, scrolling social media, listening to music and baking anything she could think of.

Deaconess Perry, she was preceded in death by her father Lincoln Williams, and her stepfather Hubert E. Felix. She leaves to cherish her memories, her Husband of 50 years Michael D.
