Deborah, 62 years of age, departed this life July 18, 2021 at the Ocean Springs Hospital in Ocean Springs, MS.
She accepted Jesus the Christ as her Savior at an early age where she attended and was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Moss Point, MS. She was an active member of the Youth Department, Choir and Chancellor Choir for many years of service.
Deborah was a Moss Point High School alumni 1976 and was an Alcorn Alumni the year of 1976-1977, worked several jobs: Summer job at Chevron Inc., 13 years at Ingalls Shipbuilding before becoming a housewife. In the summer of July 11, 1987, she married Minister D G McMillion, Jr. at the First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church.
Deborah accepted her calling in the ministry March 2002 at Prophetic Harvest Ministries. She was ordained by Yah Ministries in Flint, Michigan and in 2004 at Christian International Ministries by Bishop Bill Hammond.
DG and Deborah have to their union three children: Jaleesa D. (Dany) McMillion, Ebonee Marshay McMillion (Tyrone Payton) and Matthew C. McMillion (Tina Miller); and five grandchildren: Jared M. McMillion, Jalen M. McMillion, Brendan J. Payton, Ja’Niya D. McMillion and Brayden A. Payton.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Marx, paternal grandparents, Thomas Marx, Sr. and Ida Belle (Nollis) Broadnax, her maternal grandparents, Rosie Smith and Corinthian (Lorraine) Smith; and uncles, Herby Broadnax, Richard Smith, Ollis Hutchins, and Leo Beard.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Minister DG McMillion, Jr. of 34 years, their three children and five grandchildren; her Father and Mother, Thomas and Clotele Marx Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas (Twana) Marx III; a niece, Deannah L. Marx; four great nephews, Apollo, Lawson, Sebastian, and Caspian; three Stepchildren, Dontae (Kabik) McMillion, Kia McMillion, and Letretia R.McMillion; a devoted friend, Stacy Bradley; and a host of aunts and cousins.
Viewing will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Millender’s Funeral Home; 4412 Main Street, Moss Point, MS. The funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m.
The final resting place will be at First Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery; Frank Griffin Road, Moss Point, MS.
