Carrie Lee Earl

Carrie Lee Earl was born on Sunday, January 4, 1942 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was the first of five children born to the late Rev. Louis Henry Perry and the late Magnolia Foster Perry. Carrie was called home to receive her eternal reward on Saturday January 10, 2021 at the age of 79. During her youth, she was educated in the Portsmouth Public Schools System. Lastly attending I.C. Norcom High School. Carrie met and married James Henry Earls on March 87, 1961 and from that union bore 9 children. Carrie was a very devoted mother and homemaker, rearing her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Carrie accepted the Lord as her personal savior under the ministry of the late Rev. Raymond Powell and sat under his ministry and traveled with his prayer band going from house to house helping to lead souls to Christ. In her later years, she attended Hosanna Christian Fellowship and loyally supported her nephew Pastor Kevin H Johnson. Family was very important to Carrie and she ensured the family stayed connected and she shared the family history with the younger generation. She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, James Henry Earl Jr., Clarence Marvin Earl and Darrell Jerome Earl all of Portsmouth, VA; five daughters, Cynthia and Deborah Earl of Portsmouth, VA, Sandra Jeanette Cannon (Robert) of Roanoke, VA, Theresa Eugene Spencer (James) of Gastonia, NC and Karen Annette Watkins (Marvin) of Newport News, VA; twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; one brother, William Henry Perry of Goldsborough, NC; one sister, Barbara Perry Johnson of Portsmouth, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, friends, and church family.
A Service will be held to celebrate the Life of Carrie Lee Earl On Friday January 15, 2021 in the Steele-Bullock Funeral Home Chapel.
