Obituary For Barbara Ann Steward

Mrs. Barbara Ann Steward was born December 10, 1952 in Washington DC and raised by Frank T. Stephens Sr., and the late Ella Mae Stephens. She departed this life on July 19, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.

Everywhere Barbara went she was known as a classy lady and was dubbed “Platinum Woman” after one of her sermons. She loved to dress in Black & White but every color of the rainbow looked stylish on her. Her hat and purse coordination was legendary, only dwarfed by her desire to share and bless others with her fashions with no expectation of anything in return. To her legacy, Barbara leaves those remaining to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 46 years Thaddeus Steward, a son Phillip (Kelly/wife) Steward and two daughters Angel Steward and Diana Steward. Her father Bishop Frank T. Stephens Sr. (Lady Elect Shirley Stephens/wife). Siblings, Evangelist Rita Butler (Bishop Roosevelt Butler/husband) of PA, Joseph Stephens of NJ, Yvonne Golden of Washington DC, Vincent Washington Sr (Janice Washington/wife) of GA, Frank Stephens II [deceased] (Janie Stephens/wife) and Lorenzo Holmes [deceased] of Detroit, MI. Her grandchildren include Isaiah Burton, Maxwell Steward, Nadia Steward and Elijah Blackmon. She is also loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & extended family, friends and more.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel of Perry J. Brown Funeral Home.
