Joe was educated in Portsmouth Public School System. He was affectionately known as "Headed" by family and friends. Joe loved spending time with his family making everyone laugh. He had a great sense of humor and was devoted to his family.
Joe was predeceased by his two brothers, Floyd C. Smith and Calvin Smith; two sisters, Ella "Pattie" Braswell (Jackie) and Mildred "Spanky" Weathers (Bobby)
He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Nathion E. Bradley (Keisha) seven siblings, Emma L. Jones (Robert), Rosa L. Harris (Rob), Salinda L. Patterson (Lionel), Freddie Baker (Martha), Lindwood Baker and Sugar Ray Baker; one sister-in-law, Mary Smith; two grand-children, Kavontai S. Hodges and Kaniyah Hodges; two great - grandchildren, Kavontai Hodges Jr., Josiah Hodges and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends, who loved him dearly.
A service will be held to celebrate the life of Joe N. Baker on Thursday February 4, 2021 at 12:00 noon in the Steele-Bullock Funeral Home Chapel.
