Obituary For Edith Garrett Hood

Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Edith Garrett Hood, will be 11:00am, Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Gadsden Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Alpine, Al.

On October 12, 1954, Edith Florine Garrett Hood was born to Mr. & Mrs. Leola Garrett, Sr. (Marguerite).

Edith departed this life on July 19, 2021. She accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church.

Edith worked in production for many years until she retired.

She was married to the late Alfred Joe Hood, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Tanya Garrett; three sisters, Louise Kelly, Elizabeth Croft and Margaret Hendrix; and one brother, Ronnie George Garrett.

Edith is survived by four sisters, Ruthie Walls of Atlanta, GA, Leola Hancock of Charlotte, NC, Delaine Garrett of Rockhill, S.C. and Angela Russell of Gadsden, AL; three brothers, Leola Garrett ]r., of Rockhill, S.C., James Garrett of Charlotte, N.C. and Andrew Garrett of Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
