She was a member of Pleasant Hill A.M.E. Zion Church until her heath declined.
She attended West Deep Creek School, Wadesboro, NC and graduated from Bowman Senior High School-The Class of 1971.
She was employed by Dawson Plant II as a Quality Control Auditor for many years. Irma enjoyed talking junk, in the name of LOVE. She never met a stranger. To know her was to love her. She enjoyed life and found joy in making others laugh.
Her favorite past-times were fishing, killing hogs, and gardening.
Irma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Lafayette Tillman, one son, Victor Deon Tillman, one brother, Laurence McBride and three sisters, Merelyne McBride, Mattie Hunter, and Estelle Hunter.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, one daughter, Irma Francine Tillman (Polkton, NC), one son, Victor Dionne Tillman II (Wadesboro, NC), seven (7) grandchildren, Qua’Nisha Tillman (Wadesboro, NC), Ron Maske Jr. (Charlotte, NC), Ron Maske III (Polkton, NC), Donovan Tillman (Mt. Gilead, NC), Deonte Tillman (Wadesboro, NC), Jayden Tillman (Wadesboro, NC) and Jalieyah Tillman (Wadesboro, NC); four (4) great grandchildren, Autumn Tillman, Edan Hough, Paxton Hough and Ya’nih Tillman; one brother, John (Anita) Hunter (Wadesboro, NC); one sister, Dennis Hunter (Wadesboro, NC); a special longtime friend, John Lee Rorie; a special uncle, Lonnie McBride; a host of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; special nephews, Jermaine Bennett and Alexander Tillman. A host of nieces and nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Services were held on Sunday, July 25, 2021, 1:30pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment followed in the Family plot of Pleasant Hill AME Zion Church Cemetery, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
In compliance with CDC guidelines, face mask/face coverings are required when visiting the facility and during the viewing, visitation and funeral services.
