Roger Lee Whitehead,63, of New Bern died Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Bayview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM; and Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the home of Scottie and Vernell Johnson 115 McDaniel Lane, Rocky Run Community.

Viewing hours are Noon to 5:00 PM, Monday at Oscar's Mortuary.

Family Visitation is 12:00 Noon-12:45 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the service.

His funeral service is 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at St. John M. B. Church 1130 Walt Bellamy Drive, New Bern. The interment will follow at the Hickman Family Cemetery, Havelock.

He is survived by his daughters, Talisha Whitehead of New Bern, NC and Natayla Thompson, Charlotte, NC; fiancee', Dorothy Lynch Howard, Concord, NC; four brothers, Jessie Whitehead, Vanceboro, NC Charles Whitehead, New Bern, NC, Troy Whitehead, Charlotte, NC and Samuel Dawson of New Bern; eight sisters, Margie Chisolm, New Bern, Lucille Brimmer, Bernice Lumpkin, Ruby Williams all of Charlotte, NC and Vernell Johnson, New Bern, Helen Perry of TN, Maebelle Mewborn and Evelyn Fisher both of New Bern; four grandchildren.
