Sadie Cohen was a caring loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She departed this world unexpectedly on July 22, 2021 at the age of 79 surrounded by her loving family. She was the first daughter of eight children born and raised in Frogmore, SC to James and Rebecca Evelyn Cohen, as Sadie grew up she was learned about her heritage and this made her very proud of her parents and siblings and their accomplishments. Upon graduating from St. Helena High School in 1960, she moved to the Big Apple and resided in Brooklyn New York. It was there that she found her beginning in the world. She attended Roschell College and obtained a degree in Psychology and became the Mother of two beautiful daughters. Sadie was employed with Nynex Telephone Company where she worked until retirement. Sadie joined the ranks of retirement and decided to packed up and move back south to Atlanta, Ga., where she made a plan to spend time with her three granddaughters. As we always say God has his own plans for you. After enjoying time with her granddaughters she was enticed to join the work force again so she went to work with the Fulton County Board of Education at Mt. Olive Elementary School where she gave love and touched the hearts and lives of many before retiring a second time. If you were blessed to know Sadie, you know that shed loved spending time in the kitchen preparing and creating meals for her family and church events. Equally satisfying were the stories Sadie shared about how she grew up in Frogmore, SC. She was a jewel full of courage wisdom laughter and love. Make no mistake, she was also a no nonsense frank and to the point kind of woman. We will always remember that "it's her story and she is sticking to it". Sadie love God and her family is undeniable. Her family will greatly miss that smile, those talks and that unconditional love. Sadie leaves to memorialize her in life, two daughters Lori Cohen and Tracey Cohen; three granddaughters Adrienne Cohen, Ashlee "Bree" Cohen and Devon Cohen; five great grandchildren Zakiyah Cohen, Dajuan Cohen, Autumn Copeland, Amir Cohen and Mckinnley Townsend; two sisters Anna Cohen and Margie Johnson; two brothers Harrison (Lilla) Cohen and Josephus (Lucinda) Cohen, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
