Obituary For James Ford

Mr. James Ford, Jr. 62 of Phenix City, AL passed Thursday, July 22, 2021 in Notasulga, AL.

Funeral service will are held 11:00 a.m. EST Thursday, July 29, 2021 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.

Mr. James Ford, Jr. was born on October 19, 1958, in Columbus, Georgia to James Ford Sr. and Dorothy Coppins Ford. James was preceded in death by his father, Mr. James Ford, Sr., and grandparents: Mr. Clarence McCoy, Mrs. Bessie Ford, Mr. Henry Coppins, and Mrs. Betty Coppins Ezekiel.

James was reared in a loving family among four siblings in Phenix City, Alabama. While at St. John AME Church, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and served on Usher Board. James attended St. Joseph Catholic School; was a 1977 graduate of Mt. Olive High School; and a graduate of Columbus Technical College where he received an Associate Degree in Business. James was a veteran, having served in the United States Army where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. At the time of his death, he was employed with the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System in Tuskegee, AL.

James was dearly loved by many and leaves cherished memories with his: son, Mr. Jameson Ford of Columbus, GA; mother, Mrs. Dorothy C. Ford of Phenix City, AL; siblings - Mrs. Patricia (Adam) Parkman of Midland, GA, Mrs. Mary (Alton) Belton of Thomson, GA, Mrs. Theresa (Walter) Gilstrap of Decatur, GA, and Mr. Kelvin (Carol) Ford of Snellville, GA; grandchildren, Jaliyah Poole, Jameson Shepherd, and Harlem Ford; and aunt, Ms. Gloria Coppins of Phenix City, AL. He also leaves cherished memories with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
