Mary Louise Perkins, 88 of Bowie, TX slipped peacefully from this life on Friday, July 23, 2021 in Bowie, TX.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, August 7, at the First United Methodist Church of Bowie, with pastor Steve Martinez officiating. A luncheon for friends and family will immediately follow the service.

Mary was born September 25, 1932 in Dallas, TX to Zirrell W and Iva (Kelly) Jones. She married her childhood sweetheart, Curtis (Cotton) Perkins on April 8, 1950. Mary spent her days as a homemaker, devoting her life to raising their two children. She and Cotton raised their family in Coppell, TX and spent their retirement years in Bowie and Nocona. Mary loved entertaining at the ranch, loving on the grandkids, and traveling in the RV with Cotton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and love of her life Cotton; her brothers Howard Jones and Boyd Jones; sisters Gladys Womack, Alma Hall, Eva Jean Pearce, and Helen Stricklin.

Mary is survived by her son Curtis Perkins and wife Sheri of Whitesboro, daughter Debra Dunlap and husband John of Bowie; grandchildren Audra Perkins, Chris Dunlap (Karrla), Clint Perkins (Shawna); step-grandchildren Johnny Zercher (Erin), Stacy Haverkamp (Jim), Amy Heinz (Mike), and Carly Sisemore; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and several other special folks who considered her their surrogate Mom or Meemaw.

The family would like to thank the angels who cared for Mom at Advanced Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Bowie and Solaris Hospice. The incredible love and compassion demonstrated to her made Mom’s last years beautiful. We are forever grateful.
