Ms. Shana Shenele Hopper, 49, of Shelby, NC passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. She was born on May 1, 1972 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Ollie Mae Ross and the late Robert Larry Hopper, III.

Shana attended Kings Mountain High School where she was a member of the basketball team and sang on the chorus. In addition to singing, Shana loved children and loved to babysit. She was a fun loving people person who never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Craig Steve Ross; sister, Audrey Mae Hopper; paternal grandparents, Joan Hopper and Robert Hopper, Jr and maternal grandparents, Leatha McKissick and Ralph Peeler.

She is survived by a son, Travis Surratt of Shelby; three brothers, David Hopper (Jeanette) of Gaffney, SC, Larry Hogue (Tina) and Robert Sutton (Roshawn) both of Shelby; two sisters, Robin Gullatte (John) of Shelby and Felicia Littlejohn (Lopez) of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren, Ni’ayla Surratt, Travious Surratt, Travion Surratt, Travis Surratt, Jr and Airanna Surratt; special friend, Carson Curtis and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Ms. Hopper will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 3:30 PM at A Glimpse of the Kingdom. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the church. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
