James was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Thaddeus Evans and his brother, Napoleon Turner.
He was a former employee of Ingalls Ship Building in Pascagoula, Mississippi, where he worked for over twenty-four years.
Loving memories and good times are cherished by his devoted family: loving wife, Annie Erle Turner; children, Dorothy Montgomery, Leon Turner, Lenora Turner, Shaun (Cherilyn) Turner, Ada (Eric) Winston, Veronica (Joseph) Fairley and Lisa Williams; siblings, Danny Turner, Randy Turner, Brenda (Derreck) Williams, brothers-in-law, Benny Moore, Melvin (Barbara) White, Larry (Angela) White, Marvin (Ruby) White, Tommy (Terry) Watkins and Dewayne (Diann) White; sisters-in-law, Lisa White and Faye Hoye; sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
James will forever be missed as a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Viewing will be Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 9:00-10:15 a.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church; 4100 Monarch Street, Moss Point, Mississippi.
Graveside services will follow the viewing at 11:00 a.m. in Scranton Cemetery; Pascagoula, Mississippi.
