Obituary For Wilbur E. Gregory

~OBITUARY~

"If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord."

Wilbur E. Gregory was born June 14, 1947, in Allendale County, South Carolina to Fred Gregory and the late Clara Mae Jackson.

He was educated in the public schools of Allendale County. At an early age, he joined St. Luke Baptist Church.

Possum as he was affectionately called was known as the "handyman." He could build and fix anything. Possum had skills like no other.

Possum enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his friends at the local carwash. He loved and adored everyone dearly.

In addition, to his mother, Possum is preceded in death by: (1) Brother: Raymond Gregory and (1) Son: Rodney Gregory.

On Thursday, July 29th, Wilbur was called home to be with the Lord at his residence in Fairfax, South Carolina.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: (1) Son: Tyrone Holmes, North Augusta, SC; (6) Grandchildren: Monique Gardner, Milledgeville, GA, Sharonda Holmes, Jasmine Holmes both of Fairfax, SC, Dondre Harley, Auriell Harley, both of Atlanta, GA., and a loving and devoted granddaughter, Kayla Allen, Allendale, SC; (7) Sisters: Clara Nell Best, Allendale, SC., and Maebell White, Fairfax, SC; Loretta Gregory, Barbara Gregory Shelletta (Bruce) Gregory Thompson, Mary Gregory and Brenda (Michael) Gregory Christian all of Philadelphia, PA; (5) Brothers: Fred (Nettie) Gregory, Fairfax, SC, Robert Gregory and George Gregory both of Philadelphia, PA, Anthony "Tony" (Cheryl) Gregory, OK and James (Valerie) Gregory, Philadelphia, PA; (2) Brothers-in-law: Robert Lee Smart, Fairfax, SC and Nathaniel Smart; (1) Sister-in-law; Brenda Gregory, NC., Devoted and favorite niece: Shirletta "Pet" Allen, devoted nephew, Avery (Joanna) Henley; Aunt: Louise Grant, Philadelphia, PA; Uncle; Ben Gregory, Philadelphia, PA; Step Aunt: Sarah Mae Carter, Fairfax, SC; Stepsisters: Lorene Cox, Barbara Ann Jackson and Pearline Murdaugh all of Maryland; Special friends: Ricky Simmons and Carl Manuel. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
