Graveside service for Sterling Richmond, 52, of Opelika, AL, will be at 12:30 p.m., Monday, August 2, 2021, at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 908 Hughley Road, Opelika, AL 36804, Reverend Roland Austin will officiate.

Mr. Richmond, who passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born May 4, 1969, in Lee County, Alabama

Public viewing for Mr. Richmond will be Sunday, August 1, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Face covering required)

He leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Trent (Jasmine) Richmond of Jacksonville, FL, Kyla (Brandon) Capers of Birmingham, AL and Stan Richmond of Dothan, AL; three grandchildren, Tristan Richmond, Ava Richmond and Julian Richmond; mother, Elizabeth Richmond of Opelika, AL; three brothers, Marcus (Teresa) Richmond of Opelika, AL, Tony (Felicia) Turner of Marietta, GA and Mitchell “Mitch” (Juli) Richmond of Bell Canyon, CA; eight uncles, Charlie (Virginia) Dowdell, Eddie Dowdell, Larry Dowdell, Melvin (Jackie) Dowdell, Marvin (Rev. Debbie) Dowdell all of Opelika, AL, Calvin (Virginia) Dowdell of Cleveland, OH, Franklin (Maria) Dowdell of Lithonia, GA and Oyzell (Mae Rose) Richmond of Syracuse, NY; three aunts, Cynthia (Reginal) Woodson of Auburn, AL, Mary Williams of Opelika, AL and Arthelia Barnes of Columbus, GA; a devoted friend, Tracy Richmond; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
