Passed 07/23/2021
Larnise Antoinette Lampkins was born at 9:18am in Harlem Hospital, on Saturday, May 7th 1966 to Lillie Pryor Lampkins and the late Haven Lampkins. La La as everyone called her was a beautiful rosy baby, and grew into an energetic and inquisitive little girl. Larnise was a fashion diva who always stood out, known for tailor made leather suits and hair freshly done every two weeks. Larnise was educated through the New York City public school system and attended P.S. 194, Walton JHS and Bronx Regional HA where she graduated with a NYS Regents Diploma. She continued to study Business Administration, at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. As Pearl's first granddaughter, Larnise was cherished and the shining light of her family. On January 7th, 1974. La La quickly adapted into her new role as big sister to her baby brother Barry, whom she adored dearly. She loved Barry so much that both of her children have his name. On January 10th. 1993, Larnise gave birth to her son, Devonte Barry Lampkins and shortly thereafter on December 15th, 1994 she welcomed her daughter, Brianna Barry Pearl Lampkins, both of whom gave her purpose. Larnise met the love of her life on April 30th 2015 when her grandson Keionee was born. Larnise kept up with the latest entertainment and fuel her love for pop culture. As a teenager, La La taught dance and modeling classes at the Forest Houses (SEBNC) Community Center and for the Lafayette Boynton Houses. At home, she would always practice the latest dances by watching MTV, Video Music Box and Soul Train with Barry and her cousins. La La also attended many of the underground Hip Hop parties of the 1980s. She was also passionate about pop music and fell in love with the village of lower Manhattan. One of the many goals that Larnise accomplished was getting her own place to live in the Village. Larnise's love of fashion and coursework in business forged a desire to use her insight as a fashionista, to become an entrepreneur at the age 18. La La wanted to learn about designer fashions firsthand, and traveled to Milan, Italy. She came back with a variety of designer bags, enough for the entire family. Upon returning to the United States, Larnise worked in retail and customer service where she provided a humorous and bubbly personality, which made her a shining employee and popular worker. While embracing her passion for fine clothing and pop life, and being a fashionista, Larnise also knew the true meaning of life was family! If you knew Larnise, then you loved Larnise! You knew her loyalty and love for family was unmatched. A daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend; she was fearless and unapologetically HER. Her love for the "Fabulous Cousins" was impeccable. She illuminated any room she entered and left a positive impression on anyone she encountered. Shw was the "life of the party". Larnise loved the ord and was baptiszed at Convent Avenue Baptist Church, where she is a member. An angel on earth, her wings have already been given. No more pain or suffering as GOD awaited and rejoiced to welcome His beautiful angel back home on July 22, 2021.
