Obituary For Peggy Ann Surratt

Ms. Peggy Ann Surratt of 293 Old Castle Lane, Forest City, NC her beautiful life ended on the morning of August 2, 2021, at Atrium Health in Shelby, NC. She was the daughter of the late Mary “Mudda” Surratt and the late Will Rogers. Peggy was born on May 29, 1944 in Rutherford County, NC. She was an alumni of Carver High School, and retired from Watts Regulator Co. She served faithfully on the Usher Board and the Missionary at New Bethel Independent Church where she was a lifelong member. Peggy was a strong independent woman who believed in working hard to provide for her family. She was also very outspoken and a passionate person in what she believed in. She was known for her sense of humor as well. She was preceded in death by Betty Jane Surratt and her late brother James Henry Surratt. She leaves behind to cherish fond memories, five children: Gregg (Chuck) Surratt, Pamela Surratt Shoemaker, Angela Surratt Hunt, Brandi Surratt, Chad Surratt. Three grandchildren: Kyariah Shoemaker Bell, Timothy Hunt, Shania Surratt. Two great grandchildren: Isaac Hunt, Na’Veah Shoemaker. Two brothers: AC Surratt, Tracy Surratt. Two sisters: Barbara Surratt, Faye Surratt Montgomery. A host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
