SSG (Active duty) Jonathan James Taylor was born in Augusta, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. Teddy and Lynette Taylor. He attended Lucy Craft Laney High School, in Augusta, Georgia where he was a star player on the football team. From there he went to Savannah State University, Savannah, Georgia. After working he enlisted in the United States Army where he served 13 years.
Jonathan leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Shameka L. Taylor of Augusta, Georgia. He leaves to cherish his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Teddy and Lynnette Taylor of Augusta, Georgia; three brothers, Randall (Alyse) Taylor of Martinez, Georgia, Teddy Taylor, Columbia, South Carolina and Franklin Taylor, Augusta, Georgia; two sisters, Ebony Shipman and Shaniece Shipman, both of Augusta, Georgia; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Casey and Betty Reid of Harlem, Georgia; four aunts, Joan Samuels, Katherine (Raiford) Kelly, Ruth (Harry) Mays and Portrice (Freddie) Rucker, Augusta, Georgia; one devoted cousin, Kantrese Ruffin, Augusta, Georgia; grandmother-in-law, Maggie L. Stephens, Harlem, Georgia; along with three aunts and four uncles by way of wife; god son, Joseph Hollins, Augusta, Georgia; two dear friends, Mr. Walter Bauknight and Mr. Joseph Barnes, both of Augusta, Georgia; two beloved pets, Beady and Remi Taylor; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
Graveside services will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Walker Memorial Park, 611 Laney Walker Boulevard, Ext., Augusta, Georgia 30901, Reverend Dr. R. F. Leverett, eulogist.
