Tony Curtis Brown was born on July 5, 1956 in Rockingham County NC to Mary Pratt Brown and the late Mr. George Roy Brown. “T.B” as some called him, will long be remembered for the way he would give folks nicknames. He had one for most of the people in his life and most of those people had one for him. Tony was a very jovial, kind and gentle spirit. He loved his family and was a very giving person. He often helped those who sometimes seemed to be forgotten about.

As a child, he couldn’t resist jumping in a nice mud hole and splashing, or the theatrics of his break dancing when he would get a whooping, or how he would lead his older brother, Wayne into some type of trouble. He loved life and could be a little mischievous. T.B. is already missed terribly! Tony graduated from Bethany High school where he played Varsity Basketball. His love of sports sometimes lead him to pitch horse shoes with the guys, teaching his younger brothers and friends how it was done! He was an avid Duke Basketball and Redskins football fan. He always wore a cap or T-shirt or hoodie of one or the other. Tony was employed at Creekside Mannor at the time of his passing. He will long be remembered by his coworkers and residents as well. Collectively they watched him serve faithfully for 17 years.

Tony never married, but helped raise two kids; Michael and Denise Brown whom he loved and they loved him deeply as well. He was Poppa to their three children.

Tony was also preceded in death by his infant brother, Rodger.

He is survived by: his mother; Mary Elizabeth Brown “Hey Mama” was his greeting for her whenever he seen her, his brothers; Wayne of Madison NC, Bill (Ella) of Summerfield NC, Ronald (Tonia) of Stokesdale NC, Ricky (Susan) of Stoneville NC, his sisters; Peggy Cullins, Janice (Jonathan) of Winston-Salem NC, Vickie Adams (The Late Ronald) of Madison NC, Lutricia Millner (Tyron) of Reidsville NC, Sheila Ford (Jeffrey) of Stokesdale NC. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends including housemates, Curtis and Michael Oliver.

Rest well T.B., Rest well!!!
