Elinda Gale Harrison, daughter of Andretta Houston Harrison and the late Deacon Joe Nathan Harrison was born March 11, 1959 in Manning, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Ann Harrison.
“Gale”, as she was affectionately called, received her formal education in the Clarendon County School District Two Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1976. After graduation, she joined the Job Core and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. In her youth, she attended Light Hill Baptist Church in the Foreston Community.
In 2007, she received a Business Management degree from te University of Phoenix.
Gale was employed with Delta/Northwest Airlines as a Crew Coordinator for thirty-one years.
She loved her cat “Purl”, loved to knit and spend time with her family.
In 2018, Gale relocated to Sumter, South Carolina to be close to her family and attended Light Hill Baptist Church where she was a faithful member.
On Sunday, August 8, 2021 Elinda Gale Harrisons departed this life at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter, South Carolina after a lengthy illness.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Ryan Patrick Harrison, Summerton, SC; loving mother, Andretta H. Harrison, Manning, SC; one sister, Betty King, Tacoma, WA; two brothers, Jonathan (Kathleen) Harrison and Kirby Harrison both of Manning, SC; special friend, Earl New, Minneapolis. MN; six aunts, Virgiree Pendergrass and Mildred Rouse both of Charleston, SC, Cynthia Snider and Susie Murray both of Manning, SC, Ruth Kennedy and Mary Jane Lee both of Baltimore, MD; three uncles, Lyn (Sarah) Houston, Salters, SC, Truman Houston, Charleston, SC and Samuel Harrison, Baltimore, MD; classmates, Earnestine Hilton, Manning, SC and Elmira Robinson, Florence, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Miss Harrison were held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Hayes F. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 North Church St., Manning, SC. Rev. Ethel Lemon, officiated, Minister Kenneth Murray, presiding, Reave. Louis Hilton, Evangelist Earnestine Hilton and Evangelist Elmira Robinson, assisted. Burial followed in the Junkyard Cemetery, Foreston Community, Manning, SC.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the family did not receive visitors.
