Obituary For Mr. Russell Campbell

Mr. Russell C. Campbell was born on October 18, 1946 in Dillon County, South Carolina to the late Agnes Braddy Campbell and Alvis Campbell Sr. Russell departed this earthly life on Monday, March 5, 2018 at his home.

Russell was a 1965 graduate of Latimer High School, Latta, South Carolina. He served in the United States Army where he served three tours of the Vietnam War. During his tour of duty, Russell received several medals of accomplishments - National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service and Campaign Medal and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Medal with Palm.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter: Doris Williams; siblings: Anderson Campbell, Liston Campbell, Loretta Campbell Malborough, Elgerine Campbell and Lutherine Campbell.

Russell is survived by his beloved wife: Ida Mae Campbell; step-children: Calvin (Shannon) Pompey Jr., Jeffery (Vivian) Pompey both of Dillon, SC, Darren Pompey, Lolita (Rome) Winston both of Atlanta, GA, Frank (Stephanie) Pompey of Charlotte, NC; brothers: Alvis (Geneva) Campbell Jr. of Dudley, NC, Henry (Debbie) Campbell of Clarksville, TN, Timothy (Connie) Campbell of Munchen, Germany, Rupert Campbell of Baltimore, MD, James Campbell, Warren Campbell, Jackie Campbell all of Latta, SC; sisters: Ada C. Bethea of Martinsburg, West VA, Ruth C. (Herbert) Perry of Largo, MD, Ruby C. (Kevin) William Jr. of Hepziba, GA, Janice Leslie of Marion, SC and Joyce Foster of Latta, SC; aunts: Mary F. Braddy, Pauline White both of Latta, SC, Mary Alice Braddy of Winston-Salem, NC, Mary (Harry) Williams Jr. of Brandywine, MD; his grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
