Born to Israel Lee Hinton Sr. (deceased) and Willie Mae, Israel Lee Hinton Jr. (known to all as Junior) after a brief illness got his wings on August 8, 2021.
Junior was born in Boston, MA on August 28, 1971 and attended high school in Wadesboro, NC graduating from Anson Senior High School in 1990. He was a member of Henry Grove Baptist Church in Lilesville, NC. He also attended church in Charlotte, NC.
After graduating from high school, Junior joined the United States Army and served in the Regular Army from 1990 to 1994. After leaving active duty, he completed his service obligation in the Army Reserves until November 26, 1997.
During his military career he trained as a boxer and was awarded the nickname “Stonie” because he had great stamina and tenacity in the ring. He also adopted this name outside the ring whom many only know him as. He was also awarded Golden Gloves during his boxing career. Still loving the craft, he devoted time to training the youth at the Charlotte Boxing Academy. He was a mentor to the younger men and boys leading by example. While in the military Israel became a member of the Freemasonry and reached the level of the 14th degree Grand Elect Mason, Perfect Elu. He formerly owned and operated a personal training studio by the name of New Outlook Personal Training located in Noda (Charlotte, NC), this was his first entrepreneurial venture.
After leaving the Army Reserves, Junior decided to work independently as a contracted truck driver, owning his own rig. He named his company “Lee Logistic”. He traveled over the road from East to West, from North to South faithfully until his death. Junior was a man whose physical fitness was unmatched. He worked out, ate clean and was cognizant of good health. He was a man who loved his family.
He leaves behind his mother, Willie Mae Hinton of Wadesboro NC, his children, Devonte Lee Hinton of Charlotte, NC, SSGT LeAndre Marquan Hinton (Christine) of South Carolina, and Daisia Blaire Hinton of Georgia, his sister, Josephine Robinson of Charlotte, NC, brother, Frank Liles of Wadesboro, NC, and sister, Rena Liles of Charlotte, NC, his nephew, Anthony Bernard Robinson of Greensboro, NC, niece, Keisha Seals of Charlotte, NC, niece, Tonya Robinson of Charlotte, NC, nephew, Lamont Liles of Raleigh, NC, nephew, Marquese Liles of Wadesboro, NC. Israel also leaves behind his extended siblings, Gwendolyn Gray of Winston Salem, NC, Jacqui Rubio of Wadesboro, NC, Tanja Smith of Boston, MA, Eric Hardison of Wadesboro, NC. Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, August 15, 2021, 12:00 noon, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be at Westview Memorial Park, Highway 74-West, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
The Hinton Family will greet family and friends on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 11:30am-12:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel.
The public viewing for Mr. Hinton will be on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 3:30-6:30pm at Smith's Funeral Home.
